Hunter/Angler Organizers Gather in DC for Training Workshop

NWF's Kurt Zwally Presents at the WorkshopOrganizers from across the country gathered in Washington, DC on October 1st and 2nd to attend the National Wildlife Federation's outreach training workshop. Fifteen outreach consultants and regional outreach coordinators were on hand at NWF's Washington office to get the latest training on organizing hunters and anglers around global warming.

Highlighting the agenda was an in-depth training on presenting NWF's "Global Warming: The Forecast for Wildlife," slideshow. Participants also heard presentations on working with media, securing dedicated natural resource funding in global warming legislation, the role of hunter/angler activists in the legislative process and the do's and don'ts of non-profit electioneering. The participants were also able to speak with other organizers and share stories from the field.

As the year winds down, NWF and NWF Action Fund are preparing for a new administration and a new Congress. Organizers in the field will play a critical role in passing comprehensive global warming legislation in the coming year as they continue to engage hunter/angler activists. The tools acquired at this workshop will help them continue to move the ball forward and solve the climate crisis.

Dave Dittloff, regional outreach coordinator for National Wildlife Federation, explains why he is in Washington, DC at the NWF outreach workshop and why stopping global warming is important to him.
