Warming may affect Northwest way of life

The federal government's latest word on global warming holds some ominous hints for the Northwest's outdoor lifestyle. Salmon and trout-fishing trips may no longer be much of an option in places, and Oregonians may find themselves less concerned about urban smog than smoke from more severe wildfires.
The report issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday doesn't represent new research but pulls together a peer-reviewed summary of earlier research to examine how a changing climate will affect human health and welfare.
